What:�Shares of Higher One Holdings, Inc (NYSE: ONE ) rose as much as 10% early Thursday, then settled to close up around 6% after the company reported better-than-expected first-quarter results.
So what:�Quarterly revenue rose 16% year over year, to $66.6 million. That translated to adjusted earnings of $12 million, or $0.25 per diluted share. Analysts, on average, were looking for earnings of $0.22 per share on sales of $60.57 million.
Now what:�Higher One CEO Marc Sheinbaum added: "I am pleased with the solid revenue growth that we experienced in the first quarter. Our Payment Processing and Higher Education revenue continue to grow at impressive rates, driven by Campus Solutions contributions and organic payment processing growth."
You might recall that after Higher One shares skyrocketed following its Q3, 2013 results last November, I chose to remain on the sidelines,�given uncertainties presented by regulatory scrutiny in 2014. I'm still cautious as proposed rules are still being debated that could affect Higher One's business.�However, it's hard to ignore the fact shares have fallen around 34% since then and trade at a rock-bottom 8.5 times next year's expected earnings. As a result, while I'm not ready to dive in with both feet, I think Higher One shares might finally be worth a deeper look.

Cloud software provider ChannelAdvisor (ECOM) has enjoyed a stellar run since its IPO earlier this year. In the months since ECOM started trading at the beginning of the summer, shares have nearly doubled. But this stock could be headed for even higher ground before the calendar flips over to 2014.
That's because ECOM is currently forming an ascending triangle pattern, a bullish price setup that's formed by a horizontal resistance level above shares at $40 and uptrending support to the downside. Basically, as ECOM bounces in between those two technically significant price levels, it's getting squeezed closer and closer to a breakout above resistance. When that happens, we've got a buy signal in shares.
ChannelAdvisor has shown investors excellent relative strength all the way up this year, but it's worth noting that the uptrend in ECOM's relative strength line has remained intact even while the ascending triangle has been forming that's a big sign of strength in this market. I'd recommend buying on a move through $40, from there, keep a protective stop at the 200-day moving average.

After the bell on Tuesday, Oxford Industries (OXM) announced its second quarter earnings, posting a 14% increase in net sales from last year’s same quarter.
The Atlanta, GA-based apparel company announced second quarter consolidated net sales of $235 million, which were up from last year’s Q2 figure of $206.9 million. The company’s EPS, on an adjusted basis, came in at $1.01, a 55% increase from last year’s 65 cents.
Oxford Industries beat analysts’ Q2 EPS estimates of 98 cents, but missed the analyst revenue consensus of $243.5 million.
Looking forward to full-year 2013, Oxford Industries lowered its EPS guidance to a range of $2.90 to $3.05. This comes in below the analysts’ consensus of $3.12.
OXM shares were up 86 cents, or 1.33%, at the end of trading on Tuesday. YTD the stock is up more than 40%.

Cencosud is one of the largest retailers in Latin America. It operates grocery stores, home improvement stores and department stores in five countries including Chile, its home base. Its stock is down 51% over the past year for several reasons, including a deal falling through that would have seen it sell 51% of its credit card operations in Chile and Argentina to Itau Unibanco (ITUB) and using the proceeds to reduce its heavy debt load. Add to that a major devaluation of the peso in Argentina, where it generates a quarter of its overall revenue, and you have investors in a full-on panic.
